Featured Author: Mercedes (click here)

Today our featured author is Mercedes.  She wrote about the old mysterious house that used to belong to Mr. Jenkins.  I wrote the first half of this spooky tale.  Despite all the warning signs, for some reason my students keep visiting this haunting place.  They all live to share their own unique scary tale.

Featured Author: Bella (click here)

Our second featured author this year is Bella.  She is in a fourth grade and her sister, Brenen, is in third grade. You will soon see that wonderful writing runs in their family.

(You can read Brenen's story below, or you can click here)

Their mother works at a local college.  She challenged her daughters with the same writing prompt she gave her college students.  As you can see below, Bella did an excellent job explaining her life goals in her expository paper.

Welcome new readers!!

Hello new readers!!

I am very excited to share the writing from my third and fourth grade authors.  My students will tell you that we work hard to write every day.  I am very proud of their work and can't wait to share their ideas and compositions with you and your families.  This gives you a new way to interact with our classroom.  My goal is that through this interactive experience, learning and sharing will continue outside classroom leading our children to grow as writers and readers

Below, you can read our goals for each day to become an excellent "WRITER."

Featured Author: Javier (click here)

Javier wrote a very exciting story about facing his fear of riding a bull.  Javier did a great job breaking his narrative into paragraphs.  Since publishing this story, he has learned to identify his different paragraphs with line indentions instead of a skipped line.  This allows him to use all 26 lines for his exciting events!  I have included an example of what a paragraph indention should look like below.

Be sure to read below his published story to see how Javier planned his story.  He used a wonderful revising technique to add some very important details.  You will also see an artist at work. Javier drew a scene from this story to share with you!

Javier did a wonderful revising technique where he added some very exciting and important details to his draft before publishing.  Check out how he used the numbering system, and then on another page added supporting information and details.
